Finally got this finished. I know, its not much and should not have taken me 5 days but the directions for finishing made this turn out smaller than the opening so I had to dig out my cord maker to make some trim to fill the space.
Never did quite under stand that saying but it seems I've been doing the happy dance a lot lately :) Here is my completed Jim Wurth dodecagon, #5 Hearts and Flowers. Despite the unseasonably warm weather I was found watching movies and stitching much of the day today and managed to get this one finished up, Yay!! I also did work on an ornament for the Christmas Ornament Stitch along but I haven't quite finished that one up. I may yet do that tonight if I still feel like stitching. Hope you all had a great weekend! :)
My finished Lady in Red Hat canvas!! I put the last few stitches in at Sit and Stitch last night after the "committee" decided the backstitch I did around the ribbon (at least that's what we think it is) on her hat was enough and I shouldn't wrap it. The lips also are done in basketweave, I tried messing with satin stitch a few times and I just couldn't get the coverage I wanted. And if my having this finished wasn't exciting enough for me... I got home last night and was determined to NOT pay someone else to do what should be quite simple to do. I got out scissors and found the directions and managed to get the canvas inserted into the bag and it looks great! This was simple beyond belief, the hardest part was taking scissors to my canvas. I had to cut the canvas 5 threads away from my stitching *cringe* and it then gets mounted onto a board, you peel the sticky back and it gets put in the purse. It was a abit of a challenge to stick it down in the pu
Here is my progress from the weekend on Baroque. I jumped around a bit having decided that moving to a different area to keep going rather than forcing myself to do an area I was less than enthused about was a better idea to make progress. I'm not likely to have this finished for my November goal with all the time I took out for my Mom's birthday gift but that's ok, its still showing some good progress so I'm happy with that. I'm also getting Poirot ready to stitch. Mondays I stitch at a Needlepoint shop and I have no small canvas pieces to take along, that seemed like as good an excuse as any to start yet another project :) I am considering switching my large canvas to Twister for December. Of all my WIP's that is the one I most want to see done, I was SO excited to start that one, but with all the laying of threads and the compensating of stitches plus the fact that its done on congress cloth, progress has been much slower than I had anticipated. I hope
