The holiday chaos begins

Which in my house usually means a bit of extra down time and hopefully some work on finishing my growing pile of completed stitching. I did manage to get another piece in for framing, Baroque by Jean Hilton. My husband picked this as a favorite before we were married, I stitched it, and its been stuck in a drawer for many years, add in a Black friday deal on framing at Joanns and its time to get it on the wall.

The last of the Little House Needlework Sheep Virtues is now finished just in time for this month's stitching smalls. Now they're all out to be pressed, have the buttons attached and be sewn into little pillows which could take an additional 3 years considering this is me we're talking about.

That done I picked up the Folded Cross Needlebook by Indigo Rose.  This is a piece my mom started so I figured it was worth counting out the stitches before I continued on to make sure it was all counted out correctly.  Just once I will get lucky with this, really I will.

All the white is gone, all of the color too.  It appears the buttonhole was stitched first, was off by a few threads and the blackwork was done to fit the opening and not to pattern.  On the bright side that is one less WIP in the pile nagging me to get it completed right?  I'm sure I'll stitch it, I loved this pattern when I bought it, and even more when my mom 'stole' the chart from me but I already have Blackwork Fantasy Garden from Ink Circles I need to finish, one piece of blackwork at a time I think.

    1. They were a treat to stitch and being small, easy to take along in the car or anywhere.

    1. Thank you! Sadly by the time I was done frogging what was miscounted there was nothing left so it was cast back into the stash pile. I still have a dozen items glaring at me from the WIP pile to get stitched, yikes!

  3. Love this series and must get around to purchasing them some time when finances allow.

    1. The charts alone aren't bad, adding the buttons near doubled the cost on them although stitching them up they looked fine without the buttons
