What happened to Spring??

It was a trick, the oldest trick, and I fell for it... Ok not really, I fall for this trick of the weather every year. We get that first warm up and I'm ready to hit the ground running outside and then 'surprise' just kidding, we have more cold and wet weather. To be fair, our cold weather is not anything compared to what the rest of the country is dealing with but I still have at least one more garden to dig.

In the mean time I've managed to get some stitching done,  the Lee Tiger was near complete but my shoulder is a bit sore from all the digging so I had to put down the stand I have for canvas.  In its place, something that I thought would be faster and its proved otherwise, the Drawn Thread Sampler of Stitches.

And off to a great start on this one (not at all) I made a point to order a few specialty threads I was missing, I'm still missing one.  I also might have completely overlooked that I needed beads so the dark thread on the far right is the next block being started for D E F until I can figure out where I've hidden the thread from myself.  Each letter square, in addition to the cross stitched letters, is full of specialty stitches that start with those letters.  A B C has Blackwork, Algerian eye, and Cup stitch to name a few.  A lot of fun but not quite as fast and easy as a design full of little X's, we'll see how long before I decide to pull out something else. As I have far more stash than I will ever be able to stitch, the stash 'pile' has been thinned yet again so there are some new things in the Etsy shop.  My goal is to get my stash significantly reduced this year, last count I have 160 charts, 56 books, and dozens of magazines I've saved with designs I want to stitch and many of them are pieces I'm going to need to do significant finishing on.  I plan to live a long life but I'd need to live to 200 to get all this done, even if I figured out how to do that I'm pretty sure my eyes would tell me off by then. Thanks for reading!
